CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Get your limited edition NASCAR Day lapel pin, show your support for NASCAR Day and help raise awareness of children in need. Pins are $10 each (plus a small handling fee), measure 1-inch by 1-inch and feature a checkered flag design. The NASCAR Foundation embodies the compassion of the NASCAR Family and its commitment to serving communities. It seeks to raise funds and increase volunteerism to support nonprofit charities and charitable causes nation-wide, with an emphasis placed on initiatives that affect the ability of children to live, learn and play. SPENCER - The N.C. Transportation Museum will have two events Saturday, May 12, hosting an auto show for those who travel on two wheels and providing kids with some Thomas and Friends® themed activities.

PET PALOOZA, Saturday, May 5th

In recognition of the thousands of homeless dogs and cats in Mecklenburg County, the Humane Society of Charlotte is hosting its largest annual fundraiser, the Pet Palooza dog walk, Kennelly 5K run and pet festival to support the organization’s mission. Big weekend at NCTM; Studebakers, pirates, and trains!

SPENCER - The North Carolina Transportation Museum has a particularly busy weekend planned with several events that should be fun for anyone.

One of the events is the classic Studebaker Show on Saturday. The company was founded to provide transportation for miners, but later developed into a major American car company, responsible for such models as the Commander, the President, Avanti, and believe it or not, the Dictator.

Food Lion AutoFair kicks off April 19th

CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - The world's largest automotive extravaganza returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway, promising something for everyone!

Anyone with an interest in automotive history won’t want to miss the display honoring the oldest American car manufacturer, Buick, which will include a 1905 Model C that is believed to be one of the oldest Buicks still in existence today. In conjunction with the display, NASCAR great Bobby Allison, who twice drove a Buick to victory in the Daytona 500, will be on hand for an autograph session from 2 to 3pm on Saturday, April 21st.

Those with an interest in rare cars should be sure to check out Tom Cotter’s 1952 Cunningham C-3 that will take center stage in the Barn Finds display.
