STANFIELD - Deputies arrested a Stanfield man Thursday night after a tip lead them to the discovery of an elaborate marijuana growing operation at his home.
Stephan Larry Bumgardner was arrested at his home in the 16300 block of Hatley Burris Road around 10:17 p.m.
Investigators with the sheriff's office and members of the Albemarle Police Department Narcotics Unit found mature pot plants ranging in size from 36-48 inches in height.
57 marijuana plants, growing lamps, potting soil and fertilizer were seized from Bumgardner's home.
Bumgardner was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Possession with intent to sell and deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping and Selling Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was placed in the Stanly County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. Bumgardner has a first court appearance scheduled for December 19.
